3 reasons why you should out-source your haggle to Weka
Haggling, bargaining, horse trading. It's a process that makes a lot of Kiwis feel a bit queasy. Let us handle your haggle!
Reason 1 - Lots of Kiwis find haggling uncomfortable, even embarrasing. Why? We don't do it a lot and we've got some core beliefs that make it hard.
You might negotiate when you buy a car or something from marketplace. Generally though, the price is the price and retailers will look at you sideways if you attempt to bargain at the counter. That gives us very little practice in this important skill. Also, we place value judgements on money. A low first offer? Insulting! A high asking price? Greedy! It's a minefield.
Reason 2 - A good negotiation needs thorough preparation and knowledge of what you should and shouldn't say. Buyers will often ask straightforward questions that feel difficult to answer. Have you had any other offers? What's the lowest price the vendor will accept? Most questions deserve a straightforward answer. Some questions are clever negotiating tactics on the purchaser's part and need to be handled with care.
Reason 3 - We haggle a lot. And, we're haggling to get the best for our client. If we think an offer is a good one, we will tell you that. If we think we can get a better offer, we will recommend that we keep marketing your place. Yes, we are getting a fee for our work, but our advice to you isn't motivated by earning a commission.
